The name Spudplucker is known and respected amongst the halfling population of Everance, with the head of the family Everbrock Spudplucker being head gardener at the palace of King Serben. The royal vegetables are in the best possible hands, and his prize ’taters are a joy to behold.

Everbrock’s youngest son Pogo Spudplucker is less well known, a state of affairs that well suits the whole family. Despite a comfortable upbringing young Pogo fell in with a bad crowd, and to his eternal shame spent a crazy summer reinforcing the halfling thief stereotype! As with many a young fool, it was his heart that led him astray.

Pogo became enamoured with Esme Lillicrap, a stout lass from the poor quarter and ran with her gang trying to impress her. Love turned to tragedy as it often does in these tales and a daring rooftop chase after a petty theft suddenly ended their courtship and her life. She missed a leap keeping up with Pogo and fell to the hard cobbled street below. Esme died instantly. Pogo was devastated but had wits enough to race home faking his alibi. Pogo turned the eye of the watch on a rival for Esme’s affections, but his involvement brought shame on the Spudpluckers.

Cast out and cut off by his dishonoured father, Pogo is learning some hard life lessons and how to stand on his own two furry feet. Assuming the moniker ‘Twinkletoes Lightfinger’, he has headed north to Riverbrook to carve out a new life trading on the criminal skills he paid for so dearly. Twinkletoes keeps a small room at the Riverbrook Rest and is scraping a meagre living scouting for the soldiers investigating the recent raids nearby.

Personal Characteristics
Personality Trait: (4) I would rather make a new friend than a new enemy. A sense of belonging is important to every halfling and Twinkletoes is no exception. His self-imposed exile has been tough, but gets a little easier with every new friend he makes.
Ideal: (5) People. I’m loyal to my friends, not to any ideals, and everyone else can take a trip down the Styx for all I care. (Neutral) They say home is where the heart is, and his friends are the foundation upon which Twinkletoes is building a new home for his broken heart.
Bond: (6) Someone I loved died because of a mistake I made. That will never happen again. See the tragic tale of Esme Lillicrap above.
Flaw: (6) An innocent person is in prison for a crime that I committed. I’m okay with that. Shiv Scuttlefoot never deserved a moment of Esme’s attention, and if he hadn’t been around I wouldn’t have had to try so hard to woo her away from him. We never would have been on that rooftop, and never would have had to… Scuttlefoot is guilty in my eyes if not those of so called justice.
